Clementine is a hybrid fruit, a mix of two kinds of citrus, tangerine and bitter orange, hence it has a characteristic sour but also very sweet taste. The fruit of a clementine is a hesperidium. The fruit is small and oval, with a smooth and shiny skin deep orange in colour. It peels easily and once done, it can be easily separated into eight to fourteen juicy wedges. The fruit does not normally contain seeds, which is a much appreciated feature.
